This club is an absolute money grab. The directors do not care about the lower level teams. They take on more kids than they can handle, so the coaches are spread thin. Our coach has been absent for nearly ever game warm up and was absent for a travel tournament so we had a substitute coach. The last 2 years eith this club is full of empty promises. The cost is about $2500 per child and the club can't even spend $100 on a pop-up canopy for the team while on the sidelines in 100+F*. We will not be returning next season.

An absolute atrocious excuse for an organized soccer program. If your team is short on players (to the point where they don’t even have enough to sub), expect LS to do nothing. They will keep referring to a “waitlist” that seems to be a figment of their imagination. Refs are not well trained and which rules they do or don’t enforce will change weekly. You would be better off signing up for any other soccer program because this one not well run.

My son, who is 13 now, has been going to Lonestar SC for 3 years. He was not really a soccer fan in the beginning, we had signed him up so that he could stay active. All the coaches we had over the years have been trained professionals who knew how to communicate with kids and trained them on being part of a team. Last year we had coach Daniel Rivera, who made the biggest impact on my son and all other kids. Entire team leveled up on their understanding of the game of soccer, and my son developed a liking for the game. He has never missed practices and always wanted to play in the games. He is looking forward to next season. While we are sad that coach Daniel will not be our coach next year, we know another excellent Lonestar coach will take over. Very happy with this club!

I had a disappointing experience at Lonestar Academy in the T&C location. My son, who had been enjoying soccer classes since he was 2, joined Lonestar for two seasons, hoping for a more competitive experience. Unfortunately, the coaches took away the fun for him, and he lost interest in playing soccer.

The first coach in the initial season was inexperienced, leading to an unbalanced team. The second coach resorted to constant yelling during games without providing adequate teaching on positions during practice. My son, being a rule follower, found this coaching style intimidating, and it negatively impacted his enjoyment of the sport.

Even expressing concerns to the head manager, Chrys, proved futile. While he appeared friendly, he failed to address the issues raised, making it clear that his interest in the well-being of the kids was superficial. Switching to T&C Academy was a game-changer, as they genuinely care about each child, focusing on proper coaching without unnecessary yelling. My son is now happy and engaged in soccer again.

I cannot recommend Lonestar Academy at the T&C location based on my experience.

Amazing experience for my grandson! He started with very little experience with players that had been playing soccer for years. He had a lot to learn—-his hard work and dedication paid off and his skill level has greatly increased. He was helped immensely by Lone Star soccer club participation and the great coaches in the club. They have taught him sportsmanship and teamwork as well, which is more important than anything.

The coaches just play the “good” players mostly the whole game!! It’s annoying. Give the other players a chance. Not just to SUB in for what seems to be the “main players”. We all paid the same amount as the other people!! Especially driving far to have your child play only five minutes. What?! And then they tell you, you can volunteer your child to help another coach so they have enough playing time. Okay But they should be playing enough and equal time as the other players on their own team!! Parents don’t need to tell a coach every season to play their child more, it should be common sense that every child deserves to play an equal amount of time as the rest of the kids!!! Looking for a new soccer academy for next season. Hopefully will be a way better experience!!

Finding the right soccer program for your child can feel like a penalty shootout – high pressure, nerve-wracking, and full of unknowns. But if you've landed at Lone Star, take a deep breath, raise your arms in victory, because you've just scored a winning goal!

My son has been a Lone Star player for 3 years now, and watching him transform from a kid chasing the ball to a confident, skilled player has been a joy every step of the way. But Lone Star isn't just about fancy footwork and dazzling goals (though, trust me, there are plenty of those!). It's about nurturing a love for the game that goes beyond the pitch.

Here's why Lone Star deserves a standing ovation:

-Coaches who coach from the heart: The coaches at Lone Star are more than just tacticians; they're mentors, motivators, and cheerleaders. They see the potential in every player, regardless of skill level, and push them to reach their best.
-A program for every player: Whether your child is a Messi-in-the-making or just dipping their toes into the beautiful game, Lone Star has a program to suit. From recreational leagues to competitive select teams, they cater to every skill level and ambition. Plus, they offer fantastic classes and camps.

In short, Lone Star Soccer isn't just a soccer program; it's an investment in your child's future. They nurture not just their athletic skills but also their confidence, sportsmanship, and love for the game. If you're looking for a place where your child can shine, on and off the field, look no further than Lone Star. Five stars, two thumbs up, and a heartfelt THANK YOU from a satisfied parent (and a very proud soccer mom)!
