I’m so glad we finally had the opportunity for a meal at Te Amo! This is definitely one of my new favorites for Mexican in New Haven. We found all of the food to be delicious, especially the queso and rice bowl. Generous sizes for the tacos with great happy hour and taco Tuesday deals. Great drinks and dessert as well, with very friendly staff. Our server was helpful and gave great recommendations, and the manager also checked in a few times and was very friendly. We’ll be back!

Update-1/11/25- I went again this time for dinner, wasn't as good as before, menu changed a bit. The service was good. I went for lunch while in New Haven on Saturday, and it was packed. No wait time, but it was busy. The atmosphere was nice, the music was off, hard rock music at a Mexican restaurant..lol..wowww...We sat next to a group of couples who helped us navigate the menu, they were great. Everything was really good, we enjoyed the food and dessert, the drinks were strong enough and they tasted good. The server was really nice she made sure we got what we wanted, We don't eat pork, so a lot of the pork items we changed to chicken with no issue. I would definitely be back to try more off the menu.

This place is always a great spot for gathering with friends/family. The food is always so delicious and the staff are really friendly. The tacos normally come with 3, but they allowed us to order 4. These acorn squash tacos are perfect for fall and packed with flavor! The margaritas here are delicious.

If you haven’t already you must go for happy hour. Everything is reasonably priced and the portions are huge! Highly recommend if you’re in the neighborhood

While visiting a friend in CT, we got take out from Te Amo, and it was super good! I got the shrimp which were extra delicious. Only in Rhode Island at Twin Oaks have I had shrimp as well prepared.

The two resteraunts could not be more different, but the shrimp!!! The shrimp at both places are out of this world! Te Amo like my favorite RI spot has good, fresh shrimp that are prepared with the care that is needed for such a delicate food. Enjoy!

Definitely would have gave them a 5star but I didn’t like the beans other than that everything was FIREEEEEE. Me and My Man went for Happy Hour the Tacos banging the Nachos BANGINGGGG Quesadillas on the money!!!! My boyfriend had BBQ tacos that was very good as well. Oh and the drinks really good I had the Flight super tasty…. I’m actually going back tonight. Tacoooooo Tuesday…..

We were celebrating my Nephew’s birthday. He turned 23. My family and I had a great evening. Alex was our waiter, he was GREAT! Food and drinks came out on time. If we needed anything Alex was a very pleasant young man. Thank you Sonia for another awesome family birthday celebration at your establishment. You never disappoint.

I recently visited Te Amo Tequila and had a very disappointing experience. Despite being of legal age drinking age, I was asked for my ID when when I ordered a drink which was fine but I accidentally forgot my ID and only had a picture on my phone not to mention I ALWAYS come to this place and was never questioned my age. What made the situation worse was that a few minutes later the two tables next to me were asked for an ID but did not have their physical ID and still received the drink. I hope the management addresses this issues and ensures that all customers are treated equally.
